DETAILING STROIES I ENCOUNTERED

QUALITY OF CAR WASHES PROVIDED BY DEALERSHIP
Years ago, the dealership gave my car a complementary car wash when I brought my car in for a service. I realised there were significantly more swirl marks on my paint after the service, so I contacted them and explained to them my concern. They immediately denied they were responsible for those swirl marks upon inspection of my car. It was because I insisted, they offered to show me what washing routine, tools and equipment were used during the wash. I was absolutely shocked when they showed me what was used to dry my car. It was an extremely dirty chamois that was sitting in a bucket of heavily contaminated water that had gone completely black. It was immediately clear that, 1. They did not wash the cars properly before drying. If the car was completely clean, the chamois would have stayed clean; and 2. They obviously did not understand that using a dirty chamois to dry a car would introduce swirls and scratches on the paint. I left the place furious, but unfortunately there was not much else I could had done to rectify the problem, as they kept denying any wrong doing. If you ever bring your car to any dealership for a service (I suggest getting your own mechanic for servicing, it is usually cheaper and more thorough) ask them not to wash your car even if it was for free, it may end up costing you more hiring a detailer to fix it.
